3mm aluminium sheet weight can be calculated by a formula. The density of aluminium is 2.73kg/m3, which means an 1mm aluminum sheet weighs 2.73kg per square meter. If the sheet is 16mm thick, it should be 2.73×16=43.68kg. And a 3mm aluminium sheet weighs 2.73×3=8.19kg.
If you have no idea about either thickness or size of an aluminum sheet, you should obtain these facts first. Measure its length, width and thickness. Multiple these figures and you get the volume of the sheet. Multiple the volume with 2.71 and you get the weight of the sheet.
Example: Aluminum plate 1 × 1000 * 1000
Weight = 2.71 × (0.001 × 1 × 1) = 0.00271 (ton)
0.00271t×1000kg/t=2.71kg
In addition to search for weight by thickness, people are also searching for answers by sizes of aluminum sheets, like 4x8 aluminum sheets weight, which we have elaborated in a previous article.
As a matter of fact, you can only get a general weight if you simply assume the density of all aluminum sheets as 2.71, for the accurate density varies from alloy to alloy, since the composition of each alloy is different.
