Initially Asphalt 9 was named as Shockwave and was planned to release in 2017 according to Gameloft press release. But due to some technical issues its first trailer was release in 2018. Gameloft’s Barcelona Studio developed this game, they previously made Asphalt 6: Adrenaline Asphalt 8: Airborne and co-developed Asphalt Xtreme with Gameloft Madrid.
