English class one day. "In English," he said,
"A double negative forms a positive. In
some languages, though, such as Russian,
a double negative is still a negative. However,
there is no language where in a double
positive can form a negative."

A voice from the back of the room piped up,
"Yeah, right."

No Nursing Home for Me

About 2 years ago my wife and I were on a cruise through the western
Mediterranean aboard a Princess liner. At dinner we noticed an elderly lady
sitting alone along the rail of the grand stairway in the main dining room. I
also noticed that all the staff, ships officers, waiters, busboys, etc., all
seemed very familiar with this lady. I asked our waiter who the lady was,
expecting to be told that she owned the line, but he said he only knew that she
had been on board for the last four cruises, back-to-back.

As we left the dining room one evening, I caught her eye and stopped to say
hello. We chatted and I said, "I understand you've been on this ship for the
last four cruises".

She replied, "Yes, that's true."

I stated, "I don't understand" and she replied, without a pause, "It's cheaper
than a nursing home".

So, there will be no nursing home in my future. When I get old and feeble, I am
going to get on a Princess Cruise Ship. The average cost for a nursing home is
$200 per day. I have checked on reservations on a Princess and I can get a long
term discount and senior discount price of $135 per day. That leaves $65 a day
for:

1. Gratuities which will only be $10 per day.

2. I will have as many as 10 meals a day if I can waddle to the restaurant, or
I can have room service (which means I can have breakfast-in-bed every day of
the week).

3. Princess has as many as three swimming pools, a workout room, free washers
and dryers, and shows every night.

4. They have free toothpaste and razors, and free soap and shampoo.

5. They will even treat you like a customer, not a patient. An extra $5 worth
of tips will have the entire staff scrambling to help you.

6. I will get to meet new people every 7 or 14 days.

7. T.V. broken? Light bulb need changing? Need to have the mattress replaced?
No Problem! They will fix everything and apologize for your inconvenience.

8. Clean sheets and towels every day, and you don't even have to ask for them.

9. If you fall in the nursing home and break a hip you are on Medicare; if you
fall and break a hip on the Princess ship they will upgrade you to a suite for
the rest of your life.

Now hold on for the best! Do you want to see South America, the Panama Canal,
Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, or name where you want to go?

Princess will have a ship ready to go. So don't look for me in a nursing home,
just call shore to ship.

ps: And don't forget, when you die, they just dump you over the side -- at no
charge.

Messianic Significance
The Book of Esther demonstrates that God's promise to preserve his
people cannot be overcome. Even though the book expresses no
acknowledgment of God, his hand is evident in the outplay of events.
Mordechai and Esther may have been God-fearing Jews, but the text
itself leaves this open. One could as easily read the story as being
about two determined secular Jews participating in God's unfolding
drama without even knowing who was behind it, just as secular Zionists
and modern Israelis have done -- fighting for the sake of the people
while failing to acknowledge the God who assures their eventual
success. From the Exodus to the Persian Gulf War, history is full of
incidents in which the Chosen People have survived when the odds were
against them. Is it only luck, or is it the God of Abraham, who
promised to preserve his people?
Esther is a story of God at work behind the scenes. (So is your
newspaper!) Yet someday He will step out from behind the curtain. Will
you be glad to see Him?

A man was sitting relaxing in an airplane when
another guy dropped into the seat beside him.
This new guy was a pale wreck. His hands were
shaking; he was biting his nails; he was moaning
in low tones. "Hey, pal, what's the matter?" said
the first man.

"Oh my, I've been transferred to Los Angeles,
California," the second answered. "Los Angeles
has race riots, rampant street drugs, and the
highest crime rate in America."

"Hold on," said the first man. "I've lived in Los
Angeles all my life, and it's not as bad as the media
portrays. Find a nice home, go to work, mind your
own business, enroll your kids in a good school, and
it's as safe as anywhere in the world."

The second guy stopped shaking for a moment and
said, "Oh, thank God. I was worried to death, but if
you live there and say it's OK, I'll take your word for
it. What do you do for a living?"

"What do I do?" replied the first, "I'm a tail gunner
on a bread truck."

What could it be about a friend,
that makes our heart feel warm?

God gave us so many things,
that makes our life complete.
But having a friend like you,
is like having a special treat.

A special friend is very rare,
in that they're so hard to find.
So when you find that someone,
your lives become entwined.

There's nothing thats any better,
then knowing you have a friend.
So you can be your self,
and never have to pretend.

So let me count my blessings,
with you amongst the top.
I know our friendship grows,
and I know it'll never stop.

Content: Good Morning to anyone who reads this post . its starting off as a beautiful day in va.the birds are very happy out side my window chirping .when they are happy so am i . and my cat really gets excited lol .needless to say he jumps from window to window playing tag with the birds .Heaven help if a bird would ever come in he would run under the bed shaking.when we get a thunder storm .he runs under the bed. and peers out as if to say are you coming lmao. pets can be too funny at times .my daughters husband finally gets to come home this week .hopefully this time he gets too.i'm so happy for her and my grandson andrew.we all have missed joesph.hes a great guy . well that about does it for today will post again tomorrow Hugz Deborah

well its a very mild day here in va .me and james half to go with my parents to run a few places . i payed my bills .me and jamie ate at sonics .then we went by to see my sisters new home .mom made her som curtains for her kitchen.her so cory wasn't feeling to well . bought my grocerys then came back home .me and my daughter talked on the phone for a hour . she found out once again her husband will be delayed on coming home from the middle east . this makes the fourth time .they have delayed him from coming home . now they are saying it will be the forth or fifth of july.well i guess thats about it for now Hugz Deborah

i haven't even been today yet guess i'll get ready in a minute to do so.was working on my doll site. and working alittle on my group page.my ok counter was messed up bad today lmao it said i had like 7000 hits in one day. yeah right .got a good laugh any way.it was cold in va yesterday . i hope when i get up in the morning it warms up and stops rainning.had to wear my sweats it was so chilly.here is the link if anyone wants to see my updates on my doll site
