Warum tritt man ins Fettnäpfchen?

In Bauernhäusern des ?.........? stand zwischen Tür und Ofen ein Fettnäpchen, mit dessen Inhalt die nassen Stiefel geschmiert wurden. Wer das fettnäpfchen umkippte und so Fettflecken auf der Diele verursachte, zog sich den Unwillen der hausfrau zu.
