| Friends, I am planning a long-awaited trip to Vietnam and definitely want to visit Hoi An. I have heard many enthusiastic reviews about this city, but I want to create my own itinerary that is not based on the standard list. Please advise me on which places in the city and its surroundings convey its true spirit. I am interested not only in the old town and lanterns, but also in something local where I can feel the atmosphere and take unique photos.

| Hoi An is not just a tourist center. Be sure to rent a bike and ride through the surrounding villages — there you will find real, unhurried life. Be sure to visit the local market at dawn when it is full of fishermen and traders. And for unique shots, head to the rice fields in Cam Thanh or the coconut forests of Bai Zo, a couple of kilometers from the center.

| For inspiration and an unconventional view of the city, I would recommend reading an article about how to discover Hoi An through Emily Strite's personal travel diary. This format often allows you to see the city through the prism of personal impressions and discoveries, going beyond the standard tourist routes. To comfortably explore both the old town itself and the remote villages and beaches, it is very convenient to use local taxis or book a car in advance through the Kiwitaxi service https://kiwitaxi.com/en/guide/hoi/hoi-an-travel-diary. This will give you the freedom to travel at your own pace, allowing you to reach the most authentic places without fatigue and return to your hotel after a long day of walking under the tropical sun.
