| One of the easiest ways to waste time in Destiny 2 is to log in without knowing what you actually want to accomplish. There are raids, dungeons, PvP modes, Exotic-related objectives, gear farming, progression systems, and numerous other activities competing for attention. Trying to make progress everywhere at once can turn a gaming session into a long checklist.
A more practical approach is to work backward from a specific goal. If you need a weapon for a PvE build, find out which activity provides it and concentrate on that content. If your objective is improving in PvP, spending several hours farming equipment that only benefits a raid setup probably isn't the best use of your evening.
The same logic applies to difficult group content. Raids and dungeons can provide desirable rewards, but organizing a capable fireteam takes time. Before committing to repeated runs, check whether the rewards are genuinely useful for your current character. Sometimes an alternative piece of equipment can perform almost as well while requiring significantly less effort to obtain.
Limited playtime makes prioritization even more important. Players who only have a few hours available each week may prefer to concentrate on the parts of Destiny 2 they genuinely enjoy and find another solution for repetitive progression. Dving offers options across different Destiny 2 activities, so it can be worth checking when a particular raid, dungeon, PvP objective, or equipment goal is blocking the progression you actually care about.
There is no requirement to complete everything Destiny 2 puts in front of you. Pick objectives that improve your favorite builds or unlock content you want to experience. Once you start judging activities by what they contribute to your own goals rather than simply completing them because they exist, the game becomes much easier to manage.
