Struggling with family patterns

I’ve been noticing that my younger brother shows signs really similar to what I dealt with growing up, like constant restlessness and trouble focusing, even though he’s still a kid. My mom always wondered if it “ran in the family,” since she had the same struggles at school. Can you suggest something good to read about ADHD and genetics so I can understand this connection better?

When I read your post it reminded me of my own family—my nephew was constantly bouncing off the walls, and it wasn’t until teachers pointed it out that my sister realized she had shown the same traits as a kid. It made me think back to my dad too, who could never sit still long enough to finish a project. I ended up looking into it and found this article super helpful: ADHD and genetics .
